Phocus is an exploration of the intersection between psychology and design. It is a laptop and monitor stand that helps users understand how much of their time is spent distracted on their phone, how much time is productive, and how much time is break time.
Phocus uses the concept of a pattern interrupt via changing light color to gently nudge users to put down their distracting cell phones. It uses the Pomodoro method to give uses structured work time with both small and large breaks to help optimize productive cycles. As a subtle reward, it charges their phone.
